There are practical skills, strategies and techniques that are taught throughout the workshops. Professionals are offered a variety of topics to chooses from that are targeted and relelvant. The choses topics are created to address instructional needs of students and individuals. These topics typically align with areas of imporvement or teacher topics. Although there are a variety of topics to choose from, there may not be one that is geared toward a specific interest. Sessions may be divided up and there may be multiple sessions running simultaneously so you are not able to attend all the sessions you want. Workshops could also have large audiences, therefore, all of your questions may not be answered in one particular session.

Individually Guided Development (IGD) This model is created by teachers and administrators who choose the specific areas of professional learning. Creating these areas keeps engagement and allows the professional to take advantage of professional development opportunities. IGD can be used independently or in conjunctione with other porfessional development models. It also gives the flexibility so the professional development continues to adhere to district requirements. The individual can set and achieve individual goals which will empower them to succeed and grow as an educator.
