Let's talk about Gaudí

Antoni Gaudí was born in 1852 in Reus, Spain. When he was a child, he was often sick and stayed at home. Because of this, he spent a lot of time looking at nature. He watched leaves, stones, shells, and animals very carefully.
When he grew up, he studied architecture in Barcelona. He learned how to mix nature, imagination, and mathematics to make new and different buildings.
Gaudí had a very special style. He liked curved shapes, columns like tree branches, and colorful mosaics made with broken ceramic pieces. His buildings have many details and surprises.
An important moment in his life was when he met Eusebi Güell. Güell was a rich man who liked art. He became Gaudí’s friend and supporter. He gave Gaudí money so he could build his projects.
The Güell family asked Gaudí to build many works using his unique style.
One was the Palau Güell, a beautiful building in the center of Barcelona. Another was Park Güell. At first it was planned as a neighborhood with houses and gardens, but later it became a public park.
Other famous works by Gaudí are Casa Batlló, Casa Milà (La Pedrera), and the Sagrada Família, a very big church that is still being built today.
Gaudí died in 1926 after a tram accident. Today, millions of people visit Barcelona to see his amazing buildings. People remember his great creativity and talent.

Antoni Gaudí was born in 1852 in Reus, Spain. When he was a child, he was often sick and stayed at home. Because of this, he spent a lot of time looking at nature. He watched leaves, stones, shells, and animals very carefully.
When he grew up, he studied architecture in Barcelona. He learned how to mix nature, imagination, and mathematics to make new and different buildings. Gaudí had a very special style. He liked curved shapes, columns like tree branches, and colorful mosaics made with broken ceramic pieces. His buildings have many details and surprises.
An important moment in his life was when he met Eusebi Güell. Güell was a rich man who liked art. He became Gaudí’s friend and supporter. He gave Gaudí money so he could build his projects.
The Güell family asked Gaudí to build many works using his unique style. One was the Palau Güell, a beautiful building in the center of Barcelona. Another was Park Güell. At first it was planned as a neighborhood with houses and gardens, but later it became a public park. Other famous works by Gaudí are Casa Batlló, Casa Milà (La Pedrera), and the Sagrada Família, a very big church that is still being built today.
Gaudí died in 1926 after a tram accident. Today, millions of people visit Barcelona to see his amazing buildings. People remember his great creativity and talent.
