How many students did we support?- Delivered 2151 1-1 appointments for students. Popular topics included referencing, academic writing and critical thinking.
- Supported 6483 students through curriculum embedded academic skills sessions. We helped with time management, referencing and preparing for assignments at university.
- Over 5000 downloads of our podcast, A Wee Blether About...
Our most popular episodes were group work, using feedback, critical thinking, referencing at UWS and reflective writing! Some student stats: 2.94.5% felt their confidence improved after receiving support from the academic skills team 3.95.7% of students felt better prepared to continue on their journey at UWS following support from the academic skills team
This year, our careers team:
Had 957 careers advice and guidance interactions
Delivered 80 extra-curricular careers events including workshops, webinars and employer-led events
Delivered 156 sessions embedded in the curriculum across all schools reaching 4496 students
60 students completed our Volunteer Recognition Award and Employer Mentoring Programme Secured the AGCAS Quality Standard evidencing our high standards of professional delivery
Introduced a new careers podcast – the UWS Careers Café
