What is electric current?
Electric current is the flow of electric charge, typically measured in amperes (A), through a conductor.
What does the Ohm´s law say?
Ohm's Law states that the current through a conductor is directly proportional to the voltage across it and inversely proportional to its resistance.
The formula is I=V/R
What is electrical energy?
Electrical energy is the energy that is caused by the movement of electric charges, typically electrons, through a conductor. It is measured in joules (J) or kilowatt-hours (kWh) and is commonly used to power electrical devices and systems.
How electrical energy can be generated?
1. Thermal Power Plants: Burning fossil fuels like coal, natural gas, or oil to produce steam that drives turbines connected to generators.
2. Nuclear Power Plants: Using nuclear reactions to produce heat, which generates steam to drive turbines and generators.
3. Hydroelectric Power: Harnessing the energy of falling or flowing water to turn turbines connected to generators.
4. Wind Power: Using wind turbines to convert the kinetic energy of wind into electrical energy.
5. Solar Power: Converting sunlight directly into electricity using photovoltaic cells or using solar thermal energy to produce steam that drives turbines.
6. Geothermal Power: Using heat from the Earth's interior to produce steam that drives turbines connected to generators.
7. Biomass Power: Burning organic materials to produce steam that drives turbines connected to generators.
8. Tidal and Wave Power: Harnessing the energy from ocean tides and waves to drive turbines connected to generators.
