SOLAR
cooker
According to the law of reflection, the angle at which light hits a surface is the same as the angle at which it bounces off. In a parabolic reflector, this means that all incoming light rays that are parallel will bounce off and meet at a single point called the focal point.
Many solar cookers use a parabolic shape for their reflective surface. A parabolic reflector has the unique property of focusing incoming p arallel rays (like sunlight) to a single point called the focal point. This is where the cooking pot or food is placed.
By using the principles of reflection and focusing sunlight, solar stoves provide an environmentally friendly way to cook without the need for traditional fuel sources.
The construction
The basic construction of a solar cooker uses a cardboard box. Aluminum foil is taped or glued to the inside of the flaps of the box. The inside of the box is painted black to increase heat gain. A cooking pot is placed inside the box, and a clear glass or plastic cover is placed over the cooking area. The box is placed where it can receive direct sunlight.
What is it?
The solar cooker is a device that allows boiling water and / or cooking food using the energy of the sun. As it does not require the use of any type of fuel or electric power, it is a clean alternative to electric, wood and gas stoves.
The operation of a solar cooker depends on two basic actions:
The reflective surface directs the rays of the sun to a point of escape, where the heat is concentrated.
A vessel is placed at the point of escape, where it absorbs concentrated heat from the sun.
Adjustments
A solar cooker can be used where there is sunshine. It does not matter if the air is fresh: in this case simply make some adjustments to better protect the pot and we take into account that the food may take a little longer to cook. Although the solar cooker is more suitable for places where it is almost always sunny and hot, it can be used in cold countries when conditions allow.
