What is the direct and indirect object?
DIRECT OBJECT: Is a noun , proper noun , and pronoun that receive the action of the verb. Responds to what? and whom? INDIRECT OBJECT: Are nouns, proper nouns, or pronouns that are not the subject or the direct object of the sentences. They are affected by the verb.
Why and when do we use it?
Direct object answers the question "what" or "whom." An indirect object answers the question "for what," "of what," "to what," "for whom," "of whom," or "to whom" and accompanies a direct object.
Formula
DIRECT Subject + Action Verb + What? or Whom? INDIRECT Subject + Verb + indirect object + direct object
ABOUT THE GAMESHOW
Goal of the Game: Get the most points by answering questions and choosing boxes. Teams:There are two teams. Each team has two players. How to Play: Answer Questions: The game has 20 questions: 15 about grammar and 5 about CCMC culture. Questions are shown on a screen. Teams pick a question to answer. Choose Boxes: If a team answers correctly, they pick a box. Inside the box, there can be a +1 token, a -1 token, or nothing. Look and Lie: The team that picked the box looks inside without showing the other team. This team can tell the truth or lie about what’s inside the box.
ABOUT THE GAMESHOW
Steal or Not: The other team decides if they want to steal the box. If they steal: If the box has a +1 token, the stealing team gets one point. If the box has a -1 token, the stealing team loses one point. If they do not steal: The first team keeps the box, and the points apply to them. End of the Game: The game ends after all 20 questions. The team with the most points wins. Points Summary: Correct answer: pick a box. Box with +1 token: one point added. Box with -1 token: one point taken away. Box with nothing: no change in points. Note: Strategy and tricking the other team are important, as well as knowing grammar and CCMC culture.
RULES OF THE GAMESHOW
1) Only the team with the box can see what's inside. 2) The team can choose the question they want. 3) The teams only have 2 opportunities to answer the question.
