Grading at CCA
The philosophy behind our grading is that we want learners to feel safe practicing skills. To do that, we use a complete grade for lessons where they earn a 0 or a 5, even if their answers are incorrect. As long as they show effort, learners should earn a 5 on all lessons. Check with your supervisor for specific instances and questions.
Grading Turnaround
Each school has its own timeline expectations for grading. See below to learn the one for your school. Click the pluses for step-by-step guides for grade book needs.

Communicating with Families
Maintain a positive working relationship with learners and families by consistently communicating ......
- Celebrations about successes and mastered concepts.
- Concerns for misbehaviors or participation.
- Suggestions and supports to address academic struggles.
- Actionable feedback from assessments, lessons, and discussions.
Communication between teachers and families can have many positive effects on learning achievements.
Try a variety of contact methods to find what's right for each household. (Calls, Emails, Chats, Mail)
