The Relation of Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca

Once again, many men, ships, and horses were lost, but the men did arrive in Flordia. Upon arrivial, the expedition disembarks entirely. After a couple of days, the men that were left built new boats and sailed alongside the coast in hopes of ending up in Spain and returning to life like they once knew it.

After losing a large amount of men and ships, the expedition relaunches from Xagua, Cuba with 480 men, 5 ships, and 80 horses.

Cabez de Vaca set sail to Flordia with a group of 600 soldiers. Cabez de Vaca was the Treasurer in this expedition.

Cabeza de Vaca fought in the war against the French. This is important because fighting in the war is how he earned his spot in the expeditions he went on.

Between 1488 and 1490, Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca was born. He was born in Extremadura, Castile which is also known as Spain.

The Relation of Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca was officially published.

Cabeza de Vaca began writing his book The Relation of Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca.

After escaping slavery and a long time of walking, the four men left finally reached Mexico. They found people who spoke spanish and they felt at home again.

Somewhere between 1557 and 1560 Cabeza de Vaca passes away.

Cabeza de Vaca went back to South America and discovered Iguazu Falls. Soon after, though, Cabeza de Vaca was sent back home to Spain.

The four men returend to Spain. Cabeza de Vaca was very vocal about his disapprovement of the slave hunter's predatory behaviour.

The 80 men left discovered Galveston, Texas. This land had never been discovered by Europeans until now. However, the first winter there was tough and only about 15 men survived it.
