Fentanyl is a potent synthetic opioid drug that is 100 times more potent than morphine and 50 times more potent than heroin, used as a pain reliever in the medical field but now produced illicitly by drug organizations due to its addictive potential, low overhead, and ability to use in producing counterfeit substances for profit.
