THE PLOT
Poirot, a Belgian detective, must investigate the murder of a man on the Orient Express, a train on which he himself is travelling. The victim is a certain Samuel Edward Ratchett, an American with a passion for travel. An unexpected weather event will ruin the murderer's plans (a snowstorm will cause the train to remain stuck for a very long time); in this way Poirot will be forced against his will to deduce that the murderer is one of the passengers whose compartment is in the carriage where Mr Ratchett's compartment was. Thanks to some clues we will learn that the victim's real name was Cassetti, an American kidnapper, and this murder was revenge for little Daisy Armstrong, an American girl killed years earlier by himself.
