  • WHAT THEY ARE: Social networks are a very innovative tool, they allow us to communicate with people from the other part of the world, we can share videos and photos, news and gossip, make friends, work and study from home
  • WHY WE LIKE IT: Social media offers a form of instant gratification. Receiving likes, comments or shares activates the reward system in our brain, making us feel good
  • WHY THEY ARE DANGEROUS: Because they are designed to be addictive. They spread misinformation and try to capture users' attention through fake news rather than verified "real" news
  • WHAT IS CYBERBULLYING: it is the online manifestation of a broader phenomenon better known as bullying. The latter is characterized by violent and intimidating actions exercised by a bully or a group of bullies on a victim
  • WHAT TO DO IN THE CASE OF CYBERBULLYING: Delete the contents yourself or have them deleted by the platform managers. Block and report the harasser on the corresponding social network (reporting abuse). Contact teachers, superiors or other trusted people and in serious cases file a report with the police.
