Students from universities in the DMV area set up tent in the U-Yard on the George Washington University (GWU) campus. The encampment at GWU went on for several weeks before it was cleared by the police.

Press Conference

H Street NW between 20th and 21st Street,

Students at George Washington University (GWU) representing the Student Coalition for Palestine, alongside representatives from the Student for Justice in Palestine hosted a press conference. The conference took place after students met with the GWU administration to discuss their list of demands, on May 9.

Community Guidelines

A whiteboard displayed information concerning what to do while at the encampment. Those that stayed there were inviting to outsiders, and even held classes to educate others about the conflict.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) gathered across the street from Thurston Hall in preparation for a rally. They blocked off the streets surrounding the building, as well as Shohada' Square.
