La frazione come operatore

Una frazione è un operatore che divide un intero in tante parti uguali quante ne indica il denominatore e ne considera quante ne indica il numeratore. Per calcolare l'intero quando si conosce il valore di una sua freazione, si divide il valore della frazione per il numeratore della frazione e si moltiplica il risultato per il denominatore. 24cm =intero. 2|3 =nastro colorato tagliato. (24:2)x 3= 12x3=36

La frazione come quoziente

La frazione è il risultato della divisione tra il suo numeratore e il suo denominatore. Essa rappresenta,quindi,il quoziente esatto della divisione. La linea di frazione è il simbolo che sostituisce il segno di divisione

Le frazioni proprie, improprie e apparenti

Una frazione propria è quando il numeratore è minore del denominatore (2|3). Una frazione impropria è quando il numeratore è maggiore del denominatore(4|3) e una frazione apparente è quando il numeratore è un multiplo del denominatore (9|3)

Le frazioni equivalenti

Moltiplicando o dividendo numeratore e denominatore di una frazione per uno stesso numero, diverso da zero, si ottiene un frazione equivalente a quella data 1|2 x 2 2|4

Semplificare una frazione

Semplificare una frazione significa dividere il numeratore e il denominatore per un loro divisore comune. Una frazione si dice ridotta ai minimi termini o irriducibile se i suoi termini sono numeri primi tra loro, cioè hanno un MCD uguale a 1
