In 1919, a courageous woman named Eglantyne Jebb founded Save the Children in response to the terrible suffering children caused by the world war.

A respected child rights activist, she set up her own youth organisation at the age of 12, working against racism and violence. She has been associated with Save the Children for more than 25 years.
