Build trusting and encouraging relationships by purposefully listening to the mentee, exhibiting empathy, and displaying real interest in their professional education. "Establishing good rapport with adult learners is a vital component of creating a positive and engaging learning experience" (Building a Strong Connection: Establishing Good Rapport with Adult Learners, n.d. )

Intentional role modeling is a beneficial element of instructional coaching because it gives a favorable presentation of effective leadership. Role modeling can be demonstrated through successful teaching practices, professional demeanors, and meditative practices. Exhibiting passion for learning with an improvement mindset. Sharing experiment based techniques, model educational methods, and providing transparent and straightforward expectations.
Keep students at the center
"Student-centered coaching recognizes that effective teaching requires a deep understanding of students' needs and a commitment to continuous improvement" (Using Student-Centered Coaching as a Pathway to Teacher and Student Growth, n.d).
- Set specific and measurable goals
- Work with educators to analyze assessment data
- Develop a practical plan with obtainable goals
