• born on December 26, 1893, in Shaoshan
• died on September 9, 1976, in Beijing.
• traditional Chinese education but later attended a modern school
• ideas of Marxism-Leninism.
• founding member of the Communist Party of China (CPC)

Chinese civil war

• CHIANG KAI-SHEK ( Nationalist party ) VS MAO ZEDONG ( Communist party)

• Alliance to fight Japanese invasion

• 37-45 : end of war = tension increasing between parties increases.

• 1946 : Chinese communist party controlling cities etc...

• 1948 : Communists won battles in Shenyang and Beijing.

• 1949: Nanjing ( nationalist party capital ) is taken by Mao.

• Leading to the creation of Peoples Republic of China

What he did for China as president

• 1949 : RoC is proclaimed by Mao Zedung => USA and UNO don't accept the gov

• Mao Zedung is considered as a dictator by his citizen and other countries

• China intervenes in behalf of USSR during Cold War

• 1996 : Mao starts cultural revolution, China gets more influence in the world

• Deng Xiaoping 1976 successor and give China new start
