Solar
This is when we use the light from the sun to generate electricity. It’s a really popular form because it can be done on a large scale or installed on homes on a much smaller scale.
Windpower
It feels like it’s always windy in the UK…and it makes so much sense to harness this wind and turn it into energy for us to use! There are two types of wind farms, which we’ll get into soon.
Hydrogen
This one’s a bit more technical, but essentially, it’s a process that splits hydrogen from water using an electric current. This might not sound renewable, but once we explain it all you’ll see how promising it is!
Battery
Battery storage is the key to generating clean, secure and affordable energy, and storing that power, too! Batteries enable EDF to save energy when it’s needed most, which makes the entire system run more efficiently.
