Проектно-базиран урок е образователен подход, при който учениците учат чрез активно ангажиране в реални и лично значими проекти. Вместо традиционните методи на обучение, при които информацията се получава пасивно, учениците в проектно-базиран урок се насърчават да изследват, проучват и решават проблеми съвместно. Този метод насърчава по-задълбочено разбиране и запазване на знанията, като позволява на учениците да прилагат наученото в практически сценарии. Използването на медии в проектно-базирани уроци играе решаваща роля за ангажирането на учениците и подобряването на техния учебен опит. По време на нашето обучение в Падуа, Италия, разширихме познанията си и се научихме как да използваме различни инструменти, за да подобрим уменията си. В проекта „Връзката между музиката и начина на живот“ използвахме различни медии, за да изследваме как музиката влияе на различни аспекти от живота ни.

Summary

A project-based lesson is an educational approach where students learn by actively engaging in real-world and personally meaningful projects. Rather than traditional methods of instruction where information is passively received, students in a project-based lesson are encouraged to explore, research, and solve problems collaboratively. This method fosters deeper understanding and retention of knowledge by allowing students to apply what they learn to practical scenarios.Using media in project-based lessons plays a crucial role in engaging students and enhancing their learning experience. During our training in Padova, Italy, we enlarged our knowledge and leant how to use different tools to improve our skills. In the project, "The Connection Between Music and Lifestyle," we leveraged various forms of media to explore how music influences different aspects of our lives.

Expected outcomes

By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:- Understand the Concept of Lifestyle and Its Connection to Music- Provide examples of how music genres are associated with specific ways of living, dressing, and behaving.- Analyze the Emotional Impact of Music.- Describe how music affects emotions and moods.- Identify specific songs or genres that evoke particular feelings and explain why.- Explain how music from different parts of the world reflects the culture and lifestyle of those regions.- Work collaboratively in groups to research a specific topic related to music and lifestyle.- Synthesize information from various sources to create a coherent and engaging presentation.- Present their findings to the class clearly and confidently, using appropriate visual aids and examples.- Engage in meaningful discussions about the role of music in everyday life.- Ask and answer questions that deepen understanding of the relationship between music, emotions, and lifestyle.- Critically evaluate how their own music preferences may reflect their personal lifestyles and cultural backgrounds.

Introduction

The lesson began with an engaging class discussion to capture the students' interest and introduce the topic. I asked students to share their favorite songs, genres, and artists, which created an enthusiastic atmosphere and allowed everyone to participate. This initial conversation naturally led to a discussion on the concept of lifestyle and how music can reflect and influence our ways of living. I used multimedia examples, including song clips and music videos, to demonstrate how different genres like hip-hop, country, and pop embody distinct lifestyles. The students were intrigued by these connections and were eager to delve deeper.

Class groups

I divided the class into four small groups, each assigned a specific topic to research: 1. Music and Clothes 2. Music Around the World 3. Music and Feelings 4. Music's Role in Our Lives Each group received clear instructions and key questions to guide their research:

Creation and presentation

Each group created a presentation to showcase their findings, incorporating multimedia elements such as song clips, images, and videos. On the final day, groups took turns presenting their projects to the class. Their presentations were well-prepared and creatively delivered, demonstrating a deep understanding of their topics. After each presentation, we held a class discussion where students asked questions, shared their thoughts, and made connections between the different topics. This collaborative dialogue helped reinforce their learning and highlighted the diverse ways in which music influences and reflects lifestyle choices.

This group explored the relationship between music and fashion, highlighting how different music genres inspire distinct clothing styles. They discussed: How the 1960s rock and roll era brought about leather jackets and jeans, and the disco era of the 1970s popularized flashy, colorful attire. How current genres like hip-hop influence streetwear, and K-pop inspires fashion trends in Korea and globally. They gave examples of musicians like Elvis Presley, Madonna, and BTS who have had a significant impact on fashion trends.

This group took us on a musical journey across different regions, using Google Earth to enhance their presentation. They covered: African Music: Known for its rhythmic beats and traditional instruments like drums, mbira, and kora. Indian Music: The diversity of Indian music, including classical styles like Hindustani and Carnatic, and instruments like the sitar and tabla. Brazilian Music: The lively rhythms of samba and bossa nova, particularly during Carnival. Japanese Music: The contrast between traditional instruments like the shamisen and modern J-pop. Bulgarian Folklore: The unique sounds of Bulgarian folk music, featuring instruments like the gaida and kaval, and the traditional dance, horo.

This group explained how music affects our emotions and moods presented with a diagram, created with Coggle. They introduced the most popular genres, connected to the emotions and feelings, that we feel, when we hear a specific song. Every genre was presented with a popular song from YouTube. Their key points included: How different types of music can make us feel happy, sad, excited, or relaxed. Why people choose certain songs or genres depending on their mood. How music influences brain activity, improving mood, concentration, and memory. The role of lyrics and melodies in conveying emotions and enhancing the impact of a song.

This group discussed the various ways music is integrated into our daily lives and its broader impact.

They presented on how music accompanies us in different activities, such as studying, exercising, and relaxing. The main psychological benefit they mentioned was how music therapy is used to improve mental health and well-being. The students asked a lot of questions, and the presenters managed to answer all of them.

Conclusion

The assessment was based on participation in class discussions and group work, the quality of presentation materials and delivery, and the depth of understanding demonstrated in the presentations and discussions. Additionally, I asked students to write reflective essays on how their own music preferences reflected their lifestyle, further consolidating their learning. The lesson concluded with a summary of key points and insights, emphasizing the powerful role music plays in shaping and reflecting our lives. Students were encouraged to continue exploring these connections in their everyday lives, staying open to discovering new perspectives through music. The lesson was successful in engaging students and providing a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between music and lifestyle.
