Florida is the flattest state in the USA. It's a peninsula surrounded by water on three sides-the Gulf of Mexico to the West, the Florida Straits to the South and the Atlantic Ocean to the East.

In 1513, a Spanish man (Juan Ponce de Leòn) called this state "Florida", wich means "The Land of Flowers" in Spanish.
