It takes Earth 365 days and about 6 hours to revolve around the Sun.

Our calendars say that a year is exactly 365 days. So what do we do with the extra one-fourth day every year?
In the year 45 BCE, Julius Caesar ordered that an extra full day be added to the calendar every four years. Caesar's calendar wasn't perfect, but it did give us our leap day every four years. During a leap year, an extra 29th day is added to the calendar in February. This makes up for the extra 6 hours it takes the Earth to revolve around the Sun each year.
