What is the ABC?
To raise the level of competence in Forensic Science through peer-based certification and promotion of professional development. The ABC is dedicated to the highest standards and programs for scientists involved in the administration of justice

Levels of certifications:
Affiliate: Not certified; individuals are certification eligible upon filing for an ABC Request for Promotion from Affiliate to diplomate and having it approved by the Credentials Committee
Fellow: Must meet all the requirements for a diplomate and successfully complete the Comprehensive Criminalistics Examination.
Diplomate: Must possess a bachelor’s degree in a natural science or related field and at least two years of full-time experience.
What is the IAI?
As a professional forensic association IAI represents a knowledgeable and experienced membership that is assembled to educate, share, critique, and publish methods, techniques and research in the physical forensic science disciplines.
