Why stay in Huddersfield?

Here at Huddersfield ISC, we work closely with the University of Huddersfield to ensure that the programmes we deliver provide the best possible preparation for progression to your chosen degree. While you are with us, you are also becoming familar with the campus, Brightspace, APA7th, the Students' Union, and staff and students from the university. As you reach the end of your ISC programme, we work with the univeristy to ensure that all students are fully supported with the registration process. We understand that applying for your next visa can be a little complicated. For that reason, all students registering for the University of Huddersfield receive high-quality support, including individual visa appointments for those applying from the UK. All of the above means that we are confident that students will have a smooth transition from the ISC to the university. However, you don't need to take our word for it. On the next page you will find information from students who have been in your position in previous years. Take a look at what they say about their decision to stay in Huddersfield....

You established a connection between classmates, teachers, and fellow students which will be super helpful in your transition in getting into the degree program. As everyone else will just starting to get to know each other, you already know some people, which might benefit your adaptation to the environment. Not to mention, the cost of moving into another city might be higher, and it would feel like starting all over again. A.F. from Malaysia.

There are plenty of benefits to staying at the University. Firstly, after spending an entire year at the ISC you will have known most of the town and gotten used to living in it. From knowing where to shop to what to do in your free time. Furthermore, the ISC provides the same platforms used in the university which means transitioning is easier than transforming to another university. Moreover, the learning approach by the university is full of knowledge and experience which will help students secure placements and graduate jobs. Also, the ISC gives all students scholarships making the university far more affordable than other universities in the same category. Finally, students changing to different universities will have to go through the same situation of being in a new place getting used to a different university with a different learning environment which could affect the student’s experience. K.Z. from Egypt.

Smooth Transition: Having already been at the ISC, you'll likely find it much easier to adjust to university life at Huddersfield compared to starting fresh elsewhere. You'll already know your way around campus, the facilities like the library, and how to use Brightspace (the learning platform). Plus, you'll probably recognize some faces from your ISC classes, which can help you feel more settled. M.V. from Pakistan.

Why did former ISC students stay in Huddersfield?

Couldn't get any easier than how it did for me as the ISC actually had a session where they guided me in the right direction as to how do I progress further on after foundation year. Any questions were answered and hence I genuinely couldn't ask for better support system than what I received from the ISC. A.F. from Malaysia.

By far one of the most important aspects of the ISC’s support is the Visa Support that is provided from the initial stages to receiving the visa. Assistance is provided remotely for students outside the UK and in person to students staying in Huddersfield. The staff is always providing guidance and paperwork needed for visas all over the world. K.Z. from Egypt.

Honestly, thanks to the ISC, the transition to university was a breeze. The staff were there for anything I needed, from visa support to helping me understand the application process. M.V. from Pakistan

How easy is it for students to register at the University of Huddersfield?

Supportive Environment: The ISC staff were fantastic at helping me adjust to studying in the UK. Now at the university, there's still a strong sense of support, whether it's from lecturers during office hours or the student support services. M.V. from Pakistan.

The University of Huddersfield has started a new approach to teaching engineering which recognises the essential role of hands-on experience. This approach involves immersing students in real-world engineering situations. These situations challenge students by allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge to solving engineering problems. The tasks involve engineering design, mathematical calculations, and applying different engineering principles. Students don’t only develop technical skills but also develop teamwork and collaboration skills. K.Z. from Egypt.

Great set of staff from the teachers to any other educational staffs as they're ready to assist you any time in every way possible. Lovely town with just about right of the amount of entertainment and attractions. Way easier access to the campus to any other universities that I have visited. A.F. from Malaysia.
