Technology Class Final Project

STEP 1 | The Chassis

INSTRUCTIONS

Follow these step by step instructions to build the chassis of what will become your Arduino Car. Make sure to pat close attention to each and every step and instructions and ask any questions you may have if you ever get stuck.

Prof. Rogelio Ugalde Palau

From your Project Kit, pick only the materials listed here and count them. Set the rest of your kit aside, securely.

1x Flip Switch

STEP 01

2x DC Motors

Prepare the materials

2x Wheels

2x Flat Head Bolts

4x Long Bolts

4x Body Locks

6x Nuts

2x Lock Wheels

1x Pivot Wheel

1x Battery Stand

4x Long Nuts

1x Body

1x Red Wire

8x Round Head Bolts

Carefully and slowly remove the protective film from both sides of the body and body locks.

STEP 02

Prepare the body parts

When you're done, the pieces should look completely clear.

STEP 03

Place 4 round head bolts into the 4 symmetric holes on the narrow side of the body...

The Pivot Wheel

...then flip it upside down.

First separate 8 round head bolts, 4 long nuts and the pivot wheel.

Place the pivot wheel atop the empty ends of the long nuts and...

... secure it with the remaining 4 round head bolts.

Fasten the 4 long nuts onto the bolts so they are secured to the body.

Carefully place the battery stand above the holes and use the bolts to secure it in place.

STEP 04

The Battery Stand

Prepare the Battery stand, 2 flat head bolts and 2 remaining nuts.

Finally, fasten the bolts using the last 2 nuts on the opposite side.

Now locate the 2 wide holes just below the pivot wheel.

STEP 05

Place the body locks on the long slits on either side of the body...

First wheel

Separate a DC Motor, 2 Body Locks, 2 Long Bolts, 2 Nuts, a Wheel and a Lock Wheel

...then fit the motor between them as shown in the image.

Use the long bolts to secure the motor to the body locks...

Finally, place the lock wheel on the inside axis of the motor and the wheel on the outer axis of the motor.

...then fasten the other side of eack bolt with a nut.

Repeat step 05 for the other motor and wheel.

STEP 06

Second wheel

STEP 07

Separate the Flip Switch and the Red Wire.

Connect the Flip Switch

Twist the red cable from the battery stand into the rectangle shapped hole in the center of the body.

Twist the red wire from the battery stand on either foot of the flip switch, then twist the loose red wire onto the other foot.

STEP 08

Fit the Flip Switch

Carefully place both cables through the rectanle hole in the center of the body and fit the flipsitch GENTLY into the hole.

FINISHED

With Part 1

Ask the teacher to check your progress to verify that everything is up to order.

Once done, go to the next part of the manual to start the circuitry.
