Who and where?
SCHOOL:
It is a Science School which is trying to implement new techonogies and innovative methods to the didactic offer. Teachers and the Manager are young and very active and pay much attention to projects and school clubs.
Chioggia, southern part of the Venice Lagoon
AREA:
CULTURAL BACKGROUND:
The majority of students are into music and sports. They are also interested in international topics (Climate Change, Palestinian War). There is a very big gap among students who really enjoy the school subjects, and students who happen to be there because they did not know what to study at high school.

4th Year of a Science High School
COMPOSITION:
15 Students of which 9 males and 7 females
Mostly B2, a couple of B2+
CEFR Level:
Second half of second term

GENERAL BEHAVIOUR :
Students are responsible but get bored easily. They use their phone in every possible quiet moment.
Students often tend to form fixed groups, but they have their own balance.
HETEROGENITY/HOMOGENITY:
SENs & SPLDs:
1 student with Dyslexia, 1 with Adhd (without 104/1992)
Used to training and tests online on several online platforms, either in class and at home. They can easily reach the platforms from Google Classroom.

- Journalists
Role of the Students:
- 2 students dedicated to each topic
- 1 coordinator
Topics:
- Climate Change
- Palestine and Ukraine situation
Role of the Teacher:
- Guiding students in selecting materials
- Giving feedback
- Suggesting how to deepen details
Debate - Phase 2
Role Play
Class Setup:
- Each party presents its general opinions on the topics.( 10 minutes each - Presentation recommended
- Journalists alternately ask 2 questions per topic to the parties. Then, the other group can counter the answer. Finally, the first group can clarify its position. (20minutes in total, about 3-5 minutes per speech)
- Journalists resume the main points of the debate and decleare the winner.
