Pulling ItTogether

GrAssign

Pulling It Together GrAssign This GrAssign will "pull together" the following concepts ~ The Angles of Elevation and Depression (2 problems) ~ The Law of Sines and Cosines (2 problems) ~ Directions and Bearings (3 problems) Included with these instructions are 3 triangles with the angle guidelines.

Instructions

1. You are setting up all problems and including the values in the setups. 2. You are solving 2A, 2B (Law of sine/cosine), and 3C (Direction/Bearing Example Word Problems). 3. Record your work on the provided document: 4. You can use Notability to record your work on the above doc. 5. Show all work. All answers must be justified. 6. Upload your work for each problem in Google Classroom. 7. Save as Together_LastNames 8. Point value: 35 pts. Include the following "I pledge my honor I will not violate Nazareth's Honor Code during this assignment."

Angle of Elevationand Depression Problems

Instructions for 1A and 1B 1. Identify what is given. 2. Draw a large diagram of the problem. 3. The diagram should be drawn as noted on the answer sheet. 4. Make sure you draw the actual image (tree, helicopter, etc) (They do not have to be perfect; make sure the diagram includes the objects mentioned in the problem. I'm not grading your artwork!) 5. On the diagram, identify the given angle(s) and measurement(s) 6. Identify what you are looking for and if you are looking for the angle of elevation or depression. 7. Include the trig setup (with the given values) needed to solve the problem. ~ DO NOT SOLVE!

Law of Sine and Cosine

Instructions for 2A and 2B 1. Identify what is given. 2. Draw a diagram of the problem. 3. In these problems, use a triangle and make it large. 4. Identify which case is being applied (SAS, SSS, SSA, AAS, ASA). 5. Identify the given angle(s) and measurement(s) on the diagram. 6. Identify what you are looking for and which law you are applying - the law of sine or cosine. 7. Include the trig setup (with the given values) needed to solve the problem. 8. Solve each problem - 2A, 2B.

Directions and Bearings

Instructions for problems 3A, 3B, and 3C. 1. Identify what is given. 2. Draw a diagram of the problem. 3. Make the diagram large enough 4. Make sure you draw the images (fire, etc). (They don't have to be perfect, make sure the diagram includes the included objects in the problem. I'm not grading your artwork). 5. Identify the given directions and bearings and the given measurements. 6. Identify what you are looking for. 7. Include the trig setup (with the given values) to solve the problem. 8. DO NOT SOLVE 3A and 3B. 9. Solve problem 3C.

A Little Visual HelpTo help with the three problems - Direction/Bearing, I've attached three triangles and the angles' guidelines. (See next slide) As you read the problems, study the visual aids (images) to correctly identify where the information should be placed on the graph. Record the triangle on your answer worksheet along with the given information. Do NOT upload these 3 images. Again, record them on the answer worksheet.
