In The last year of his career he moved to Al-Jazira, in the Arab Emirates. He ritired in 2002 following a great career.

In 2005 he began his political career by running for President of the Republic of Liberia but was defeated in the run-off.

George Tawlon Manneh Oppong Ousman Weah was born on 1th October 1966 in Monrovia, Liberia. His professional football career began in 1985 in African teams. He graduated from a London university with a degree in art and sports administration but when the university was closed his degree lost its value.

...The second road...

On January 22, 2018 he became The President of Liberia.
This position ended this year, on January 22, 2024, with the end of his mandate.
During his time in office he adolished the "racist" law that limited Liberian citizenship only to individual of color

The first time in Europe...

In 1988 he moved to Europe where he wore the shirts of Monaco, Paris Saint Germain, Milan, Chelsea, Manchester City and Olympique Marseille.

He won several championships including the French and Italian ones.

"Ballon d'Or"

In December 1995 he won the "Ballon d'Or", becoming the first not European footballer to win the trophy.

Until the previous year the trophy was awarded only to the best European player of that season but from that year it was opened to all players of European teams
