What happened in Chernobyl?

What happened in Chernobyl?

This accident happened at reactor 4 of the Chernobyl plant and was the result of human error, as the reactor operators failed to comply with various safety protocols.

What happened in Chernobyl?

It all happened during a safety test that was underway and resulted in the explosion. With the explosion, two plant workers were killed and, in the aftermath, a fire broke out in reactor 4 and raged for days. The explosion left the nuclear reactor exposed, and the fire was responsible for releasing a large amount of radioactive material into the atmosphere.

What happened in Chernobyl?

The wind carried the released radioactive material into the atmosphere, and the radiation spread around the world.High levels of radiation were quickly identified in places such as Poland, Austria, Sweden, Belarus and even as far away as the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada.
