Comprehensive guide into African American History living in Bexar County during the 1900s:
There were few records of enslaved people in Bexar but their was baptsim registery records of the local catholic church. The records included the % of african and mixed race people.
African Americans where crowded in four wards mostly in the east side of san antonio depedning on what occupation they worked in.

Due to the arrival of Texas Anglos pouring into texas and the success of sugar & cotten it caused for a demand in the enslaved workforce all over texas increasing the overall population of ensalved people.
The type of labor enslaved men & women did varied. Slaveowners who owned more than 4 slaves typically had the most strenous longest " job positions". The vast majoirty of enslaved people where farrmers.
The end of slavery had an effect on farms & ranches that relied on labor to ensure it's overall success. Farms declined significantly as changes for enslaved people adapted.
