1)Header with date and contact information 2)Salutation or greeting 3)Opening paragraph 4)Middle paragraph(s) 5)Closing paragraph 6)Letter ending and signature

From: Laura Mazzanti To: David Kelly, HR Manager Subject: Application for sales manager position Dear Mr Kelly, I am writing in response to the job advertisement on the ABC Jobs website for the position of sales manager. I have five years of experience in sales. For the last three years, I have worked as a team leader, managing a team of 20 sales assistants in a large store. I have experience in hiring, training and managing staff. I have good communication skills and I can speak Italian, Spanish and English. I have attached my CV with more information about my background and qualifications. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Best regards, Laura Mazzanti

8 useful tips for your curriculum vitae
1. Keep it short … but not too short! 2. Use active verbs. For example, use verbs like led or managed (a team / a project); created or developed (a product / a positive atmosphere); and provided (support/training). 3. Avoid leaving gaps in your employment history. If you were travelling the world or looking after small children, include that in your CV. 4. Make sure it's up to date. 5. Don't exaggerate or lie. 6. Spend time on the layout. Make sure your CV is clear and easy to read. Use appropriate spacing, keep your sentences short. 7. Check for mistakes. Mistakes on a CV create a bad impression. 8. Include a cover letter.
