Organization Profile
At the school we work with students from various towns belonging to the rural region of Las Villuercas, in Extremadura. The students, aged between 12 and 18, have a medium-low cultural and socioeconomic level. For this reason, our purpose is to promote social inclusion, citizen participation and democracy, and offer all members of the community learning opportunities in this disadvantaged environment. In our school, students receive 6 hours of class daily from Monday to Friday in the morning hours from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Our center offers the following learnig programs: Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training in Computer Science, and Medium Degree in Administration and Management, and Electrical and Automatic Installations. Additionally, our organization presents the following programs: REBEX, Librarium, Escolarium, Radioedu, Geocenter, Steam and Simulex. Our project try to enhance school leadership and new approaches to improve the quality of education, teaching, linguistic competence in the foreign language classroom, as well as the acquisition of the rest of competencies.

OBJETIVES
Promote the use of ICT in the teaching-learning process and develop digital capabilities for all. Stimulate the development of linguistic competence in foreign languages of students and teachers, especially oral expression. Promote international cooperation of students and teachers to enhance European relations. Improve accessibility and inclusion of students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Improve teaching practice through active methodologies, helping in the development of professional and personal skills. Promote awareness and responsibility of the environmental heritage that surrounds us, taking advantage of resources in a sustainable way.

LOCATION
The IES Mario Roso de Luna is located in Logrosán, a town in the Las Villuercas-Ibores-Jara region. The Villuercas Ibores Jara Geopark is formed by a mountain massif isolated from the south of the province of Cáceres, in Extremadura. This site is characterized by an Appalachian-type morphology and landscape with very pronounced folding and fractures. It also has abundant paleontological sites, where different types of marine fossils can be found. In addition, the site has vestiges of a mining culture, towns from previous cultures, and rock shelters with cave paintings dating from the Bronze and Iron ages.

MÉRIDA
Mérida, the capital of Extremadura, western Spain, was founded by the Romans in the 1st century BC.There are still remains of the ancient city, such as the Roman theater. This space is still in operation and has two rows of columns on the stage.Its 792 m Roman bridge extends over the Guadiana River to join the Alcazaba, the 9th century Islamic fortress built on the Roman walls.

CÁCERES
Cáceres is a city in the western Spanish region of Extremadura. It was founded by the ancient Romans and still preserves various vestiges of the different cultures that later occupied it.The architecture of the monumental city, as the old town is known, is a mix of Gothic and Renaissance styles, with cobbled medieval streets, and fortified houses and palaces.It is surrounded by a 12th century Moorish wall and has around 30 towers, some of them with stork nests.

TRUJILLO
Trujillo is a municipality in western Spain. Its medieval castle stands on a hill from which you can see the center of the town. The Coria Museum is an example of the regional links between Spain and Latin America, while the Pizarro House Museum tells the life of Francisco Pizarro, conqueror of the Inca Empire. An equestrian statue stands in his honor in the town's Plaza Mayor.

GUADALUPE
Guadalupe is a municipality and Spanish town in the province of Cáceres, in the autonomous community of Extremadura. It is located in the community of Villuercas-Ibores-Jara.The Royal Monastery of Santa María de Guadalupe is the most important monument in the town, but without a doubt the quality of its services constitutes an added value. This municipality was born very close to the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe which, according to legend, was sculpted by Saint Luke and buried next to him in Asia.

ORELLANA LA VIEJA
Orellana la Vieja is a Spanish municipality, belonging to the province of Badajoz (autonomous community of Extremadura). There are numerous archaeological remains found in the surroundings of the current Orellana la Vieja, which prove human settlements in different periods (Lower Paleolithic, Middle, Chalcolithic, Bronze and pre-Roman and Roman times). In addition, Orellana la Vieja is internationally recognized both for its tourist complex on the Costa Dulce, its Blue Flags on the Beach, Port and Trail, as well as for its natural environment and its rich historical-artistic heritage.
