Welcome to ScriptMed!

Introduction

ScriptMed is DirectRx's new pharmacy management system. It has all the tools we need to streamline our processes and support our mission of providing timely and comprehensive care so that our patients get better. These interactive trainings are designed to help you familiarize yourself with the way this new system works before you get in there all on your own! You will find these green icons throughout the trainings to help guide you along. Make sure that you view them in order to move on. Click next to get started!

Work Stage Tiles

In ScriptMed, the work stages are equivalent to queues or lists that need to be worked. Each tile is a different work stage where a different process happens.Which stages you are able to see from your dashboard depends on whether you have the Clinical, Referral, or Order tab selected. It also depends on which tiles you have access to based on your role. For example, a regional's dashboard may not have the Clinician Counseling tile because that is a work stage for pharmacists. If you would like to see all of the work stages that you have access to, click the Show All box in the top right hand side of your dashboard.

Let's learn about

Patient Profiles!

The patient profile holds all communications we've had with the patient and their provider, notes, prescriptions, insurance and more.

Patient profiles are accessible from the search function or from the navigation panel on the left side of your screen when you are working on them in a work stage.

You can make changes to basic patient info by clicking the edit icon.
Prescriber Search

Searching for a prescriber in ScriptMed is as simple as looking up their NPI, first, or last name!

If the search returns no results and it is new prescriber, the ability to add a new prescriber will appear!

Tabs & Tiles

Navigating Pages and Stages

The tabs on the dashboard help to switch between different displays of data. They toggle between tasks, search functions, modules, and ways of viewing tasks and who they are assigned to!The tiles get you into each specific stage that a patient moves through and might be located in. There are multiple ways for you to access those stages that you will learn later.

Advanced Search

The advanced search tab has expanded search capabilities for patient and providers outside of the navigation panel. Here you are able to look up using standard fields, as well as address and e-mail.

Patient Panel

The final thing to note is the patient panel. This panelcan be accessed anytime you have a patient open whether it is in through a work stage or accessing the patient profile. The panel, found on the right edge of the screen, allows you to easily drop down and view key portions of the patient's profile quickly.

The icon circled in red below is where critical notes are kept. Critical notes are pieces of information deemed as important for the patient's care.

Click on the image to expand to full screen!

  • Clinical will show patients that are in a stage that need interventions, assessments, or reviews from a pharmacist. This tab is worked by pharmacists.
  • Referral is the flow worked by most PCCs. Clicking this tab will bring up patients that are at a stage where they need info added to their profile. This could be demographic or medical info, medications, or insurance and a benefit investigation.
  • Order is all about the pharmacy. Patients displayed here have already been pushed to go out and require the work it takes to get them out the door. This filter is primarily worked by our pharmacists and pharmacy techs.

Clicking between the Clinical, Referral, and Order tabs allows you to see patients and where they are in different parts of our process. Sorting between these three will effect what stage tiles are displayed at the top, what patients come up, and what "My Tasks" and "Team Tasks" displays. My Tasks: shows any patients assigned to you or that you have began in that workflow Team Tasks: displays all patients that aren't assigned to anyone Depending on your privileges, you may not see anything appear when you click one of these tabs.

Navigation Panel

This is the Navigation Panel. It will always be present no matter where you are in ScriptMed, though what it displays may change depending on what stage you're in. From here you can Search or come back to your dashboard.

Depending on your role and permissions, there may be things on the navigation panel that you do not have access to.

Patient Demographics

This bar of information is home to patient information and identifiers. The things that are greyed out can be edited using the icon near the patient's name. Clicking the blue hyperlinks for address and phone number will allow you to add and update contact information and set defaults.

Previously Accessed Patients

If you need to go back to a patient profile that you have worked on recently, those can be easily accessed here. The navigation panel will store up to 10 of your last viewed profiles.

Click on the image to expand to full screen!

  • Clicking Search will open up the list of patients in that stage and filters to sort them by.
  • Clicking Next will bring up the next available task in queue in the stage.
  • Clicking Assign will bring up the next task in queue that is assigned to you.

Let's talk more about the stage tiles.

  • The number indicated on the tile indicates how many tasks there are in that stage able to be worked.
  • Locked images or tasks are things that someone has already begun working on, therefore, no one else can access them until they are completed or unlocked by a lead.

Patient Search

If someone calls in with inquiries about a patient, the quickest way to find them will be the Patient Search.

You can search for a patient by:

  • Last/First Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Phone Number
  • Patient ID (MRN)

Medical Summary

Here you are able to see and add information like allergies and comorbidities found in the patient clinical/visit notes. Just click the plus button in the respective category!

Profile Navigation

The patient profile houses all information we have on that patient. Navigate it using these tabs:

  • Patient: An overall summary of the patient's medications with us and clinical information
  • Financial Aspects: Insurance, coordination of benefits, accounts receivable, and test claims/eligibility checks
  • Images: Any faxes/documents that we have received for the patient
  • Notes: Progress notes that we have documented for the patient, from patient calls to updates.
  • Outreach: Emergency contact & provider information, as well as any outbound communications to the patient or their provider
  • Clinical Summary: Documentation of any assessments done by our pharmacists
  • Therapies: Tracking of medication therapies associated with the patient
  • Supplemented Info: Patient vitals, lab values, and medical conditions
Team Tasks

When looking at all of the tasks available to work using the "Team Tasks" tab, you must filter for what results you'd like. This can be manually done by selecting from the options on the main screen, or selecting a set filter group and clicking apply.

Rx Activity

This section shows where exactly a medication we received a referral for is in the process.

  • Referrals are new prescriptions we've received but have not yet processed.
  • Orders are medications that have been scheduled for delivery and show expected delivery date.
  • Prescriptions are medications that the patient has filled with us and displays the fill date.

From the above, we can tell that DirectRx received two referrals for the patient. Referrals and orders can include mutliple prescriptions, but will only show the primary drug. N/A means that a medication was not set up and will need to be. We can also see which work stage the medication is in. Because both items are in the Referral category and not Orders or Prescriptions, we know that we have not scheduled anything to go out, nor have we shipped to the patient before.
