PURPOSES OF ANECDOTE - to bring cheer
- to give caution
- to inspire
- to reminisce
Activity 1: Multiple Choice
Instruction: Identify the purpose of anecdote.
ACTIVITY 2: BE CAUTIOUS! Instruction: Read the problem below and tell a cautionary anecdote to keep your classmates warned.
In the recent report of Pagasa, El Niño in the tropical Pacific continues to weaken but impacts (hotter and drier conditions) continue. There is also a 60% probability of La Nina in June-July-August. Pre-developing La Niña historically is characterized by below normal rainfall, therefore, the possibility of a slight delay on the onset of the rainy season is likely with the combined effects of the ongoing El Niño. Tell us a cautionary anecdote that shows how El Nino affects you and your family.
FEEDBACK REACTION:Heart- "Great job! Your anecdote is spot on! Keep up the excellent work! 😊👏" Like- “I appreciate your effort in sharing your anecdote but I find some parts confusing. Let’s work together to refine your answer."
Activity 3: Inspirational Anecdote
Example: “I thought I couldn’t make it. I failed multiple times but I never quit. I believe that one day I will be who I wanted to be so I keep on trying. Now, I am living my dreams.”
