Romeo is a Montauge who finds a deep love for Juliet that leads him to eventually kill himself. Romeo is also witty and smart.
Juliet is a young Capulet who falls in love with Romeo. She cannot bare not being with him even though her parents forbid it.
Benevolio is a Montauge who tries to keep peace between the families. He gives good advice speccifically to Romeo.
Tybalt is loyal to his family, agressive and short-tempered. He is Juliet's cousin who gets killed in Act 3.
The nurse acts as Juliet's mother figure in the Capulet household. She knows more about Juliet than anyone else.
1. Romeo moves the plot forward by being a complex character who is always on the move. He risks getting killed just to be with Juliet. 2. Juliet moves the plot forward by also being a complex character who is impulsive and ready to do anything for her love. Specifically, Juliet moves the plot forward by making a plan with Friar Lawrence to pretend that she was poisoned. 3. The Nurse teaches Juliet and takes care of her. She is her guide to life and she knows everyhting about her. 4. Tybalt moves the plot forawrd by commanding fights and egging on Montauges. He values and honors his family greatly. 5. Benvolio is a peacemaker and wants nothing but to bring the two families together. He tries to break up fights and he is very wise.
