Introduction

The overall theme of my media projects was orchestra, with the exception of Project 8 and 9. 1. Media Project 1

Podcast

My podcast focused on the basics of an orchestra. This includes the instruments, how they're organized, and what their roles are. It also touches on what a conductor does and why violins get divided into two sections.

2. Media Project 3

Storyboard Planning

This project wasn't specifically about orchestra. Instead, it talked about tuning, its history, and different methods of tuning an instrument. It was made in Google Slides and was meant to be a storyboard for the video in Project 4.

3. Media Project 5

Storyboard for Animation

This project was a storyboard for the animation in project 6. I chose to make it about (some of) the history of orchestra. I used arrows and lines to indicate how I wanted the pictures and text to move. I also used the speaker notes on each slide to write what I wanted to say and explain how I wanted the elements to move in that frame.

4. Media Project 6

Animation

This project was an animation based off the storyboard in Project 5. It was made using Animaker. It aimed to teach viewers more on some of the history of modern orchestra, like two important historical figures, an important pre-modern orchestra, and the average size of one.

5. Media Project 8

ILO: Interactive Image

This project was about UIC's Richard J. Daley library. I used Genially to add interactable hotspots to an image of the Circle Room in the library. I talked about how much printing costs, what its hours are, and the person the library was named after.

6. Media Project 9

ILO: Interactive Timeline

This project was also made in Genially. It's a step-by-step timeline on how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It shares some statistics over peoplle's peanut butter and jelly preferences, links to some interesting articles, and makes suggestions on things that may make help the viewer make the sandwich more easily. It also features a short ingredient list.

7. Media Project 10

ILO: Interactive Presentation

This project was made in Genially and serves as a collection of all my previous media projects. Given that the majority of my projects are about orchestra or talk about things important to it, I hope the viewer learns a bit more about orchestra and perhaps gets interested enough to do their own research on it. I also think most viewers would learn that I'm pretty interested in orchestra (and though I don't mention it) it's partially because I'm in UIC's orchestra.

Conclusion

For projects 1, 3, 5, and 6, the common theme was orchestra and things that are related to it, such as its history or tuning an instrument. Project 8 aimed to teach the viewer a bit more about the Richard J. Daley library, such as who it was named after and how much it costs to print documents. Project 9 was a step-by-step on how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
