My name is Jeni Tahaney. I just completed my 29th year in education & my 21st year as a librarian; I’ve been in both Elementary & Secondary libraries. I am currently the librarian at Summit High School in Mansfield ISD (near Arlington, TX).

Why Passive Programming?

Passive Programming should be a foundational element of any library beacause it promotes . . . literacy, flexibility, inclusivity, creativity, & independent learning In additon . . . there's not enough time to do it all & there are always scheduling conflicts

My Furry Valentine

• asked staff to send pictures of their pets
• put together a Google Slide Presentation with all pets
• asked participants to match the pet with the staff member
• both staff and students could participate
• 1st place - Dutch Bros drink, 2nd & 3rd place - large Sonic drink

Could also be adapted for "Love your Pet Day" or "National Pet Day."
