Benefits of LARPing
LARPing, or Live Action Role-Playing, is a form of immersive gaming in which participants physically act out their characters' actions and decisions. In addition to being a fun hobby, LARPing can also have several health and social benefits.
Relieves stress
LARPing involves running, agility and movement. Like any other form of exercise, it helps reduce effects of stress, anger, anxiety, as well as increase muscle strength and improve cardiovascular health.
Allows social connection
LARPing brings people with same interests together. Through the activity, people who may otherwise struggle to socialize, are able to connect easier with others and create long-lasting bonds.
Increases self confidence
In LARPing, participants choose a character and act like the character would. Playing a character allows participants to get out of their comfort zone and explore different personalities.
Exercises empathy
By playing a character, participants exercise their ability to empathize with others. The activity allows the player to reflect on alternate scenarios and the emotions those experiences bring about.
Teaches valuable skills
LARP participation results in a better and deeper understanding of leadership, group dynamics and decision making. Additionally, participants gain better communication and public speaking skills.
