Textures
Tactile texture refers to the physical surface quality of an object that can be felt through touch, such as the roughness of sandpaper or the smoothness of glass. Visual texture, on the other hand, is the illusion of texture created by an artist in a two-dimensional artwork, using various techniques such as shading, line work, and color to mimic the appearance of different surfaces without actual physical texture.
Justin Gaffrey is an American contemporary artist known for his unique style of "sculpting with paint." Born in 1965 in Winter Haven, Florida, Gaffrey initially pursued a career in construction before discovering his passion for art. He developed his signature technique of applying thick layers of acrylic paint onto canvas, manipulating it with palette knives and other tools to create three-dimensional, textured compositions.
