If one is on water, it is your best option to go to land since an earthquake has the ability to generate tsunami waves within minutes. If you are indoors, stay indoors! Practicing drop [ dropping to your knees], cover [covering body or head with pillow, blanket etc.] and hold [ holding onto a desk, or shelter until shaking stops] is the safest option until the earthquake passes. If you are driving, stop the car, pull over to the curb, and stay in your car. Staying away from glass, hanging objects, cupboards, windows, light fixtures, and any other potential hazardous objects is crucial for your safety!
