7.4 Time expressions, ago.

We use time reference + ago to show how far back in the past something happened

Examples:

The movie ended five minutes ago. The plane landed two hours ago. My son was born six months ago. Her husband died ten years ago. I took that photo many years ago. I came to this city a long time ago

TIME LINKERS are words that are used to link phrases or sentences in order to help understand when something happens and to maintain a clear sequence of the event in question.

Example: -First, Robert woke up early. -Then, he took a cup of coffee -After, Robert found a spot where race starts. -he found a spot in the busy parking lot. After that, Robert started his race. -Before beginning the race, he made sure that he had all the food, water, and good sneakers to run safely! -Once he was sure he had everything, he packed it all into his backpack. Before that, he really checked the map to confirm that he was starting on the right trail. -Finally, he began his race at 08 AM!
