Yeats' Poem is in the early 20th century. Audens' poem in the post war, mid 20th century.

Historical/Cultural Contex

Yeats' poem goes into a dialogue between two charaters showing the feeling of hopeless love and aging. Audens' poem does a more self analysis approach and uses the stars to create an image of hopeless love.

Diffrences

Both poems use the same themes of hopeless love, showing the pain of loving someone who has no interest in you. The authors use imagery to create emotions, and imaginations to show how the author felt.
