The school Board consists of a Chair, Vice Chair, three additional members. There are two helping employies, the superintendent and the board attorney.

Meet the School Board

Abby Sanchez: Chair

As the chair, she takes the lead in curriculum operations and all areas of management. She spent 22 years in education, working as an elementary school teacher. She ran for the board because she wanted to give kids more opportunities for ESL learners. Also, Sanchez served for Pop Warner cheer programs as fund manager, cheer cordinator and coach, helping raise millions of dollars for cancer reasearch. Most intresting, however, she has a horse named “Gator.”

Kristine Kraus: Vice chair

When she was 15-years-old, she survived a school shooting and deeply values school safety. She also has been actively volunteering in schools for 20 years before running for the school board. She was leader of her homeowners association for 14 years and once got 5,000 people over many different subdivisions to support protecting the last undeveloped parcel of land neighboring the area.

Kelly Davis

She specialized in Qualifications Training for the US army, and even created her own training program to increase swimming efficiency in young soldiers. She also has 20 years of law experience, where she still actively practices family law and criminal defense. This is all while being a single mom of two, which is what inspired a passion for education, ultimately leading to being on the school board.

Amy Pennock

She helped raise over $1 million dollars to help provide food for Central Floridians in need as event chair in the Second Harvest Food Banks Wine Women & Shoes. She is also a successful entrepreneur, recognized by the Orlando Business Journal in 2015 as one of the top CFOs in their C-Level Awards. She runs the Pennock Consulting Group, where they get hired to manage the company’s finances.

She was president of Storytellers of Central Florida, received state recognition as an ambassador of storytelling. She also helped secure $18 million dollars towards building local parks and updating stormwater infostructure. Additionally, she co-founded the Tales Two Tell, a theater company and has worked in nearly 200 schools and libraries throughout Central Florida.
