CONGRATULATIONS
You have now completed your first practice. Continue on to the training.
Jake
Because Jake owes money for his visit, you can either handle the simple payment or send him to the Account Specialists.
Giselle
Giselle came in because she was double charged on her account. Her voice is starting to increase and people are sitting in the lobby watching.
Jake
Jake came in for a recall, but his card declined on his payment plan. He has a balance due.
Isabel
Isabel is a new patient and would like to get an exam and x-rays started today!
Consultation Rooms
Consult rooms are designated for patient registration and initial consultations.

DOFI's & Account Specialists indicate patients are in consult rooms
Tina
Because Tina was coming to her regularly scheduled adjustment, she can wait in the lobby. During this time, you can ask her for the type of elastics needed and get them for her.
Tina
Tina is coming in for an adjustment. She needs more elastics.
Lobby
The lobby is where the patients wait to be seen, we want to reduce the length of time they wait in the lobby to maximize the treatment time.
DOFI's can monitor wait time in Open Dental or YAPI
Check-In
The check-in area is where patients arrive for their appointments.
DOFI's mark Open Dental for check-in
Accounts
Accounts is where patients manage payments, review insurance details, and complete necessary paperwork for their treatment.
Ena
Because Ena is a loyal patient and is actively paying her payments, she can wait in the lobby until called back*. *This is a great opportunity to thank her for her loyalty and ask for a review.
Ena
Ena came in to get her root canal. She has a membership and is on a payment plan.
Operatory
This is where the patient will spend the most time. We want to prioritize the amount time the patient is getting treatment done.
Assistants will move the patient on YAPI to the operatory when the back is ready.

Account Specialists call up patients to their area, but appear in the lobby on YAPI

Consult Room
Because Isabel is a new patient, we will need to input all of her information in Open Dental. The consult room is a great way to alleviate the crowd in the lobby and give her privacy when sharing her information*. *If you are registering the patient, make sure to let your teammates know so they can cover the patient flow while you are away from your station.
Consult Room or Empty Operatory
Because Giselle came in upset and it was effecting the experience of other patients in the lobby, it is best to move her to a consult room or operatory. This can calm the situation down and give you time to research the issue further.
Dave
Because Dave is a walk-in he will need to wait in the lobby*. *The DOFI should continue providing updates to the patient the longer the wait is.
Dave
Dave came in with pain. He called and Support Center told him to come in as an emergency.
