1. Introduction
In Italy many girls practice rhythmic gymnastic: all start since first years of life. The italian rhythmic gymnastic national championship is an annual rhythmic gymnastic national competition in Italy.
2. History
The history of this sport has very distant roots.The first real Rhythmic Gymnastics competition took place in the Soviet Union in 1948. In Italy, women's gymnastics began to develop in the city of Turin, with free body exercises and small apparatus (balls, ropes, hoops and small wood).
3. Andreina Gotta Sacco
Andreina Gotta Sacco was an athlete around 1925: she graduated in physical education in Turin. She won seven national titles in five different athletics specialties, setting the Italian record in the high jump and long jump on several occasions. Then he retired from gymnastics and started teaching in Brescia!

5. Safia Raffaeli
Sofia Raffaeli is an Italian gymnast, individualist of the Italian national rhythmic gymnastics team. She is the first Italian in history to win an individual gold at the World Championships in rhythmic gymnastics, she is the 2022 all-around world champion and vice champion in 2023. She is very young, she was born in 2004!
