GENERALrequirements

  1. Have a valid work contract for highly qualified employment for at least 6 months.
  2. The job must be classified as highly skilled, typically requiring a higher education qualification.
  3. The gross annual salary must not be lower of 1.6 times the amount of the average gross annual salary in Greece (aprox. €32,000 annually).
  4. For a regulated profession the applicant must provide certification.
  5. For non-regulated professions, proof at least five years of professional l exseprience

Immediate family members of the Blue Card holder can join them in Greece, provided they do not rely on the Greek welfare system.

Timeline details

  • Valid for 2 years.
  • If the employment contract covers a period shorter than the aforementioned, the "EU Blue Card" is valid for at least the duration of the employment contract, extended by three (3) months, but not for a period exceeding two (2) years.
