Number Eight and why I liked the story

Number eight

In this short story written by Jack Ritchie we are following the story of a hitchiker being oddly similar to a murderer described by the radio. Despite his resemblance the driver doesn't seem to be worried.I personally really liked this story because of its original plot, the author is also creating an heavy and stressful atmosphere for the reader. I really like the plot twist of this encounter.

FAHRENHEIT 451
The Meeting with Clarisse and why I liked it

In this dystopian novel made by Ray Bradbury. In this story we are following the story of Montag a fireman living in a society where all books are burnt. Montag will slowly understand the true power of books and will try to fight against the dystopian society.I really liked this extract because of its very unique and interesting way of describing Clarisse. It almost seems like Montag is hallucinating

Pride and Prejudice, why I didn't like it

Pride and prejudice

In this short story written by Jane Austen in which we are following the story of the relationship between Elizabeth Bennet andDarcy a rich aristocratic landowner. I personally don't like typical love stories. Moreover despite being cleverly written, I don't like the main plot and I disliked the character of Darcy as he appears, from my point of view, as an heartless and selfish man.

Unmarriageable and why I didn't like it

Unmarriageable

This story is a re-writing of Jane Austen's work Pride and Prejudice except that it's happening in our century and in Pakistan. The story is very similar to the original one and the names are similar too.I didn't like this story because I feel like this re-writing is too close to the original story, and is in my opinion missing innovations and new parts.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, why I didn't like it

Pride and prejudice and zombies

In this re-writing made by Seth Grahame-Smith we are following the original story of Jane Austen except that the action takes place during a zombie apocalypse. I personally liked the idea of this re-writing at first, but I felt like the zombies were weirdly introduced in the plot . I personally don't like this addition as it's in my opinion disturbing and gets us far from the original story which ins't only bad. I still didn't appreciate the story.

My personal documents

Much Ado About Nothing and why it's a nice addition

Much ado about nothing

In this story written by William Shakespeare we are faced with two love stories full of twists. One of them is love at first sigh between Claudio and Hero, whereas the other one is a "enemies to lovers" between Beatrice and Benedick. This story is very interesting to read due to its suspsens and frequent plot twists. Moreover the relationship between Benedick and Beatrice can easily be linked to Elisabeth and Darcy's relationship.

Romeo and Juliet 2013 and why it's a nice addition

Romeo and Juliet 2013

This film is based on William Shakespear's most famous play, Romeo and Juliet. I like this screen adapation because I personally feel like it captures the original idea of Shakespear very cleverly. It depicts very well the idea of a forbidden love, the pain and harm that it's causing in the original story. The screen adaption is also staying in the same century as the author which is a good point.

I personally find this theme very interesting, encounters are a very vague topic. This allows us to discover many ways of encountering someone. At first I thought that the theme would only be love centred , so I was positively suprised when I discoverd Number Eight by Jack Ritichie.

My opinion on the theme :

Encounters can take many forms. They can be the simple of fact of discovering a new person for brief moments. Or even making a new friend overtime. But they can also love encounters such as love at first sigh or even hateful encounters.Encounters are all unique and will all lead to a different ending.

Conclusion

Thank you!

in fact the girl is described in a very majestic way. She seems to be an angel and doesn't seem real at first. It's also a very important extract since it will be the start of Montag's change. It's why I really like this encounter between Montag and an outcast named Clarisse.
