El primer Word para windows apareció en 1989 y fue diseñado para windows 3.0... Wor paso a llamarse word 6.0 en este punto a pesar de que la version anterior habia sido la 2.0.
1991 word 2.0 para windows
Este año se publico la actualizacion 2.0 como parte de office 3.0. con esto se convertio en el lider gracias a la actualizacion del sistema operativo windows.

1999 Word 2000
Fue la ultima version que soporto windows 95 y se lanzo con 23 herramientas nuevas

2007 word
Pasaron mas de 4 años para una nueva modernizacion, pero en ella se incluyeron algunos cambios, el mas significativo fue el diseño de interfaz de usuario RIBBON.

Es la version mas reciente de la suite de ofimatica, Microsoft Office para este sistema.
