BU to confirm to OIBP/HR how many apprentices they require in September the previous year to when they require them to start example: 2025 start they let us know September 2024.

OIBP to instruct College on numbers and work with College regarding bids and any queries.

Adverts normally go out in National Apprenticeship week (England) as this comes out first and can then advertise (Scotland) if not achieved figures.

From November we can advertise an expression of interest for the following year if they have missed the deadline.

OIBP/HR to work with recruitment on the applications and when ready offer applicants an assessment day at the Institute(s).

On the assessment day they will have access to the Institute facilities and will be required to complete a role play, dexterity test assessments and a face to face interview supported by the BU's.

HR will offer a placement from the assessment day and advise of the start date.

Confirmation to BU will be notified how many are starting and when.

OIBP/College will advise Skilsure (E-portfolio) of starters to be added and so their portfolio can be set up.

OIBP will have admin access to Skilsure and BU to advise OIBP who they would like added from the BU.

OIBP will overall admin access to Skilsure.

OIBP will keep up to date with Skilsure to see development of apprentices and have regular contacct with LM/Mentor/Trainers and Assessors re progress.

Apprentice will start and attend the Omexom Induction.

Apprentice will be advised who is their LM/Mentor and that the OIBP will be their overall mentor (a meeting will be booked with the LM/Mentor and IOBP to set out expectations of the Apprentice and go through what paperwork etc they will be required to complete whilst on the programme).

Apprentice to complete all mandatory courses.

BU will have full responsibility for the learning and development whilst on site but any queries regarding the apprenticeship they contact the OIBP/Assessor for support.

OIBP/Assessor will ensure regular visits to colleges and training providers to observe the delivery and to make sure correct content is being delivered.

OIBP will attend virtual quarterley review meetings with apprentice/LM and college/training provider to ensure all paperwork completed to correct standard.

If an apprentice doesnt attend work/college then LM/IOBP/college and HR (if required) needs to be notified of this.

For T-level students on work placements where they are 16-18 we will hold regular check ins with OIBP/HR to make sure safeguarding/young persons at work and any other laws are being adhered to.
