What is being done to help the area: The city already had public transportation. In recent times, New Orleans has relied more on solar and wind energy. Furthermore, the city has begun making permeable-surface roads and has even started working to restore the coastal wetlands and help repair damaged ecosystems.

Harmful effects of climate change: The New Orleans city is under attack due to rising sea levels. Also, the coastal damage is physically shrinking the city size. Climate change also has other effects such as increase rates of precipitation, more intense hurricanes, and even heat waves. This has caused trouble for humans and animals alike as it destroys housing, communities, workplaces, and even ecosystems.

New Orleans is already a vulnerable city as it has a low water level and is close to the Gulf of Mexico.

What is being done to help the area: Jakarta is working to improve its public transportation, reduce carbon emissions and even start promoting climate change engagement and education within its communities. Jakarta is also working on flood relief. They have incorporated flood walls as well as flood control systems like flood drains and reservoirs.

Harmful effects of climate change: Climate change has a wide range of effects on Jakarta such as rising sea levels. On top of this, Jakarta is also sinking due to groundwater extraction. Jakarta also faces the issue of severe and frequent flooding which has increased due to climate change. Additionally, the people living in the city have to be wary of their deteriorating infrastructure as well as water-born diseases.

Jakarta, Indonesia is another low lying city that suffers from the effects of climate change in a similar way to that of New Orleans.
