Adulthood:The war, explosions and the parachutist falling down shows a critic to the oblivion in which the children can be against the adults´ reality

Simon:A natural good, he does not feel morality as an artificial imposition of society. He could realize that it was not "the beast" inspiring the hunters´ behaviour but rather the barbaric instinct inside each of them

BALANCE

The dead Parachutist :Shows the hopelessness to be rescued due to adults can not even protect themselves

The beast :Represents the naivety of human beings about beliefs as primal instinct

MORALITY

A BIBLICAL PARALLEL: When he was in the forest= garden of the Eden Simon, a christian figure, Jesus. Simon´s conversation with the Lord of the Flies= the confrontation between Jesus and the devil in the desert

The expedition:Curiosity is part of our nature; the constant hunger for knowledge

Wooden spears:Protective instinct and evolution

Games during the expedition:Places in evidence the lack of reasonability; a neurological process

Ralph’s control diminishes: Less rules, refers to a transition to accomodate a culture with different needs.

Jack´s fierceness:The savagery needs to take control when danger is near

Island:It represents the microcosm of the wider world, where civilization struggles against primal instincts.

Piggy’s aunt :absent adult authority and the failing societal structures

Fire : hope and destruction

BALANCE

The sand fort: The sand fort symbolizes the boys' attempt to recreate a semblance of civilization and security on the island.

UniformsSymbolize societal norms and rules. They serve as a reminder of the boys' former civilized identity and the expectations placed upon them by the adult world.

MORALITY

The conch: The conch symbolizes authority, order, and democracy. It is used to call assemblies and maintain order among the boys. As it loses its power, so does the boys' adherence to civilized behaviour.

Nudity:Nudity represents the boys' regression into a primitive state, stripped of societal constraints and moral inhibitions.

TRANSITION

Ralph’s control diminishes: Less rules, refers to a transition to accomodate a culture with different needs.

The glasses: The glasses symbolize intelligence, reason, and the power of science and technology. They are initially used to start fires and signal for rescue, but as they are broken, it represents the breakdown of rationality and order within the group.
