POLLUTION AND DENGUE DISEASE

The Córdoba channel functions as a buffer zone for rainwater and residual channels within the urban area of the city of the municipality of Arauca, which means that throughout the year this channel conserves volumes of water and at the same time there are some species of wild fauna and native flora. , these two final characteristics represent the environmental importance of the Córdoba pipe, where human life is endangered due to the pollution that this represents, a product of the bad odors coming from there, which becomes more acute every day, since due to consumption of the animals found in said tributary, and as they contain organic remains, they require delicate handling, as they become the perfect vehicle for parasites, viruses and bacteria that result in diseases caused by sewage.

Impacts at a social level: Dengue disease is a serious disease with epidemiological, social and economic impact, which has become a growing problem for global public health. The influence of social factors,demographic and environmental, such as unplanned urbanization, population migrations, variability in the distribution of vector control efforts, cultural aspects, housing conditions and the quality of health service provision, among others, they have contributed to the spread of the vector (Aedes aegypti), leading to an increase in the incidence and the appearance of the disease in new geographical areas.

DETERMINANTS

Económic: The destruction of biodiversity, the contamination of the food chain that involves toxic transmission to food and the scarcity of drinking water. These activities have generated important environmental effects, among which stand out: soil erosion, loss of wildlife habitat and an increase in the surface flow of water and its sediments. The deterioration of water quality slows this growth, worsens health conditions, reduces food production, diseases and exacerbates poverty.

Contaminated water and poor sanitation contribute to the transmission of diseases caused by water use and are related to the presence of microorganisms and chemicals present in drinking water. Among them we can mention malnutrition, neglected diseases, diarrhea, poisoning, bites from contaminated vectors, among others. If correct processing is not carried out, wastewater can cause environmental pollution, more serious diseases in humans and severe transformations to the ecosystem since they are composed of organic and mineral substances that come from fecal matter and other waste.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND HEALTH

The current state of the wastewater channel, cleaning sessions are being held in conjunction with government entities, cleaning companies, the national army, inmates deprived of liberty and health entities, to remove all the excess segment and contamination from this source. water, since multitudes of inhabitants who live on the banks of the canal are the most affected, due to the pollution that this generates, dangerous waste, a source of vectors that spread acute infections, and the bad smell day and night. Education campaigns are being carried out in the community when cleaning the canal.

Current state of the situation, defining whether specific actions have been implemented to resolve the situation, their results or if there has been no intervention by the competent organizations or the impacted community.
